Abstract [en]
Through a memory I have tried to understand why this memory is important to me,
even if it might not be true. What happens to a memory when someone says it has not
happened? Through Platon, Ricoeur and Spinoza, I have tried to understand why you
sometimes don’t want to remember, or why you simply don’t remember, and what
happens when you don’t have anyone who can reflect you and your memory. In short:
the consequences of lost witnesses. In the documentary film Shoah, by Claude
Lanzmann, I found out that the memory sometimes can be to difficult to carry by
youself, that you liberally can try to forget the memory, and that the memory then can
catch you up later. Even if the memory is not true, it doesn’t matter, because the
memory itself defines you as a person.
