Den här uppsatsen undersöker frågor kring sång-skådespelarens teoretiska förberedelser med sin karaktär inför repetition. Som ny i operabranschen är det lätt att tvivla på sitt arbete och de förberedelser man gjort inför varje roll. För att motverka den här osäkerheten har jag utformat en checklista och sedan arbetat utifrån den när jag studerade in rollen som Miss Todd i The old maid and the thief av Giancarlo Menotti inför vår slutproduktion. Känner jag mig lugnare och mer självsäker i min tolkning av karaktären om jag har följt en lista med uppgifter? 

This study examines questions about the singing actors' theoretical preparations with their character before entering rehearsals. When entering the opera field it is easy to doubt your work and the preparations you've done for each part. To beat this insecurity I've created a checklist and then worked from that when learning the part of Miss Todd in The old maid and the thief by Giancarlo Menotti for our examproduction. Do I feel calmer and more confident in my interpretation of the character I'm acting if I have followed a list of tasks?
