Reflection. Mirrors and Improvisation: how do the mirrors and the reflection of myself affect me when I'm improvising?

Abstract [en]

How do the mirrors and the reflection of myself affect me when I'm improvising?

I have been working with milTors and improvisation. By studying the physics of reflection and different improvisation techniques I created my own improvisation methods. After using these methods in the studio, improvising both with and without mirrors, I got a new relation to my reflection in the mirror. I can choose how I want to use the mirror both during class and when I am improvising. My reflection has become a friend and a colleague who I can play with. I have managed to create my own illusionary world.

Through the last weeks I have been more aware of myself, both as a person and a dancer. Now I can go into a studio and improvise and be aware of what I'm doing. I feel I have a multiple of choices, and that I can use my creativity. I have found methods that I will explore even more and use to create material. I want to try out the communication I have had with myself and my reflection with an audience in different ways. Maybe I can be a reflection of them? Or they a reflection of me?
