This chapter explores how hope is understood, created, and sustained through leadership practices in tertiary dance education. We engage with four leaders of tertiary dance and dance teacher programs around the world who have led transformational processes, creating insights about how dance education can move towards spaces of hope. The leaders participating in this study are Rainy Demerson, Alfdaniels Mabingo, Eeva Anttila, and Ralph Buck. Literature on leadership in dance education is sparse, and there is not a lot of research on leadership and administration in tertiary dance education. With this inquiry, we hope to contribute to the field of critical and hopeful leadership practices in tertiary dance education, and we are guided by the following research question: How might leadership practices contribute to a landscape of critical hope in tertiary dance education?
