The design of the spellbook bears a panelled layout, borrowing simultaneously from codexes and the modular arrangement of early analogue computers and electronic music synthesizers. The panels feature different images from and adjacent to the Unquiet Veil experience, and poetry from Hadewijch of Antwerp (ca. 1300) and Áron Birtalan (b. 1990). Furthermore, the layout features four blank spaces that are to fill in, using specialised spells participants of the Unquiet Veil experience/workshop create. Thus each spellbook is eventually adorned with a personal touch, allowing it to become not only a publication of it's own, but a placeholder for future artworks and a score for future experiences and practices.
