The workshop was developed within the artistic research project "Bodies as Ears – Speculations on Acoustosomatics," funded by Stockholm University of the Arts (SKH). A prototype of the listening score was first presented at SKH Research Week in January 2025. The finalized workshop was presented at Fylkingen Fylkingen New Music and Intermedia Art Stockholm, on October 12, 2025, as part of the Listening Biennale.

“Listen to a Place That Makes No Sound” is a workshop concept developed as part of the artistic research project “Bodies as Ears – Speculations on Acoustosomatics”. Led by sound artist Jenny Sunesson and choreographer Martin Sonderkamp, the workshop guides participants through sound meditations and exercises in body awareness, within a spatially situated choreographic score for listening. Rather than viewing listening as a purely auditory act, the workshop approaches it as an embodied, spatial practice in which body and place are in a reciprocal relationship. Participants are invited to perceive the absence of sound and the inaudible as generative conditions for a listening presence. The workshop forms part of an ongoing investigation into acoustosomatics: the exploration of how sound is perceived, held and processed bodily. It contributes to the reflections of the overarching research project, which regards listening not as reception, but as a choreographic and relational act.
